Choosing the right topic so that you write your best ToK essay is not as simple as it sounds;
there are many factors to consider.
Most importantly, you must bear in mind the examiners' guidelines to make sure that
you have enough of your own personal experiences to include in your essay.
As an external examiner for various institutions, including the IB, I have experience of the considerations
that should influence your choice of the best ToK essay topic for you.

IB ToK Essay Help: Planning and Writing the Essay
Once you have chosen your title, planning your ToK essay is of course an essential step.
One tip is to leave the introduction until last; for its only when you've written
the essay that you'll be in a position to write a meaningful introduction.
Instead, devote your planning time to breaking the essay down into logical sections, and sketch
what you will write about in each.
Remember to include some discussion of both your own knowledge experiences and of the theory
of knowledge, where appropriate.
With a masters degree and a doctorate in the theory of knowledge, and having taught the subject
widely to college and university students, I provide expert tuition on planning and writing excellent
ToK essays.

IB ToK Essay Help: Marking and Assessing the Essay
Once you have written a good draft you will likely want your ToK essay marked and assessed,
before finally submitting it.
I provide three kinds of formative marking and assessment feedback:
(i) detailed colour-coded, contextual comments;
(ii) an overall summary comment;
(iii) grades out of ten against the four recognised IB ToK assessment objectives.
This information will indicate your essay's current standard, pinpoint its relative strengths and weaknesses,
and identify areas for possible improvements.
My essay marking and assessment of course includes comments on content,
style and argument structure; but also spelling, punctuation and grammar.
The aim is not to deprive you of the satisfaction of writing your own excellent essay,
but to show you how to make substantial improvements yourself.
As an experienced examiner for various examination boards, including the IB and OCR;
and having examined theory of knowledge essays at colleges and universities;
I provide expert marking and assessment of draft ToK essays.

IB ToK Essay Help: Grammar and Punctuation Check
It is of course essential to check your ToK essay for spelling, grammar and punctuation.
Once you have proofed your final draft essay to the best of your ability, you ought
to have it checked independently for things you will inevitably have missed.
For example, do you know which of these sentences is grammatically incorrect and why?
